In a condolence meeting attended by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, cabinet ministers, MLAs, high Ranging officials let by the Chief secretary and Director General of Police two minutes silence was observed to pay respect to the departed soul.
Later, they paid floral tribute to the photograph of late Syed Ahmed at the conference Hall of the Manipur Secretariat, a government press release said.
Okram Ibobi Singh said he was an eminent political leader who served the country in different capacities.
