A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the steering committee of the State Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA), chaired by Haryana Chief Secretary P K Chaudhery here.
The plantation drive at Gurgaon, Mahendergarh, Karnal Kurukshetra and Palwal will be in addition to the ongoing urban forestry schemes in Haryana, an official spokesman said.
CAMPA fund would be utilised for the plantation drive, he said.
The steering committee also approved annual plan of 2012-13 for protection, conservation and management of forests as well as wildlife in the state.
The state CAMPA received a fund of Rs 16.54 crore from the Central government for 2012-13.
