Matt Damon will not do Bourne sequel: producer

Actor Matt Damon, who starred in first three films of the 'Bourne' series, will not be a part of the fifth instalment of the action film.
The 43-year-old star, who was earlier said to be a part of the film, will not return as Bourne. Instead Jeremy Renner will be back as Aaron Cross, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"It's simply not true," executive producer Frank Marshall said. The film will focus on the Aaron Cross character played by Renner in 'The Bourne Legacy'.
Marshall refuted the speculations that the date was pushed back to accommodate Damon's schedule. "It's a summer movie, and if we don't start preproduction now, we can't make next summer. Therefore, it's a wise decision to move to 2016," he said, adding that the script is not ready.

Justin Lin ('Fast & Furious 6') is on board to direct the screenplay from Andrew Baldwin.
Damon had previously said that he was 'open' to another Bourne movie if Paul Greengrass, who directed the sequels 'The Bourne Supremacy' and 'The Bourne Ultimatum', was once again behind the camera.
