Max temp drops below normal in Punjab, Haryana

The maximum temperature dropped by a few notches below normal at many places in Punjab and Haryana today.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 34.1 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, MeT department said.
In Punjab, Ludhiana registered a maximum temperature of 33.4 degrees while Patiala's maximum settled at 35.5 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature also dropped at Amritsar, which recorded a high of 34.5 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, it said.
Ambala in Haryana recorded the maximum temperature at 34.9 degrees while Karnal's maximum settled at 38.2 degrees Celsius.
However, Hisar and Narnaul experienced hot weather conditions by recording the maximum temperature of 41.8 degrees and 41 degrees, respectively, MeT said.
Thunderstorm accompanied with squall exceeding 45 kmph is likely at isolated places in the two states, it added.
