Maximum temperatures up slightly in Punjab, Haryana
Press Trust of India Chandigarh Maximum temperatures today rose marginally since yesterday at most places in Punjab and Haryana.
Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, which received light showers this evening, recorded a maximum temperature of 35.1 deg C, two notches above normal, the MeT department said here.
Amritsar in Punjab recorded a high of 35.5 deg C, up two notches against normal while Ludhiana's maximum settled at 34.1 deg C, up one notch against normal.
Patiala recorded a high of 34.6 deg C, two degrees more than normal.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 34 deg C, up one notch while Hisar's maximum settled at 37.5 deg C, one notch above normal.
