Nearly 690 sanitation-related and 11 corruption-related complaints have been received till date on the new Mayor Helpline of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, since its launch over two weeks ago.
North Delhi Mayor Ravinder Gupta had launched the helpline on April 28, soon after taking charge as the new incumbent to the top municipal post.
"Till today (Friday) 689 of complaints were received in the Mayor Helpline for sanitation. Out of them, reports of 179 complaints after their redressal have been received, while remaining are in process of redressal.
"Besides, 11 complaints of corruption have also been received which have been forwarded to the director vigilance for further necessary action," the NDMC said.
Gupta held a review meeting on complaints received on the helpline (96430-96430) with all the Zonal Deputy Commissioners, who provided the details of complaints and actions taken for their redressal.
The Mayor also directed all the Deputy Commissioners that the complaints of sanitation must be redressed within 24 working hours and if any employee is found neglecting his duty in this regard then action must be taken against them.
Also, if it is found during the feedback that a complaint received has not been properly redressed, specially related to sanitation issues, then disciplinary action must be taken against the official concerned, the Mayor said.
He also said if any complaint does not pertain to the corporation but to any other agency or department of the Delhi government then the complainant must be informed that the helpline deals with complaints regarding sanitation and corruption only.
The review meeting was attended by the Additional Commissioner (DEMS) Deepak Hastir, Director Vigilance Norbu Saring and Deputy Commissioner of all the six zones -- City, Civil Lines, Sadar Paharganj, Karol Bagh, Rohini and Narela.
