Meeting soon for implementation of wage board recommendations

Union minister Bandary Dattatreya today said a tripartite meeting between the management of media houses, representatives of journalist unions and Labour Ministry will soon be held to discuss full implementation of recommendations of the Majithia Wage Board by the newspaper managements.
Addressing reporters here during his one-day visit to Mizoram, the Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment said as labour is in the concurrent list of the Constitution, the state governments were also responsible to ensure implementation of the Wage Board recommendations.
He said in his own state, Telengana, media houses were yet to fully implement the Majithia Wage Board recommendations.

"I have written to all the state chief ministers including those of Telengana and Andhra Pradesh, to speed up the implementation of the recommendations of the Majithia Wage Board," he said, adding that the Supreme Court judgement on Wage Board should be fully implemented.
