Police sub-inspector R C Dhanwat of the Nagar police station told PTI that the victim Pompa Uttam Jana (29), a resident of Mahagiri was being treated by a psychiatrist.
On Tuesday 11.15 am, when there was nobody at home, she hanged herself to death.
Her husband, who came to know about it after he returned home in the evening, reported the matter to the police, which sent the body for postmortem, the police said.
A case of accidental death has been registered and further investigations are on, the police said.
