The mercury settled a little above the normal in the national capital with the weatherman predicting thundershowers and light rain in the city tomorrow.
The day temperature was recorded at 33.1 degrees Celsius in Delhi, one notch above normal, while the minimum was at 19 degrees, which was two points higher than the average for this time of the year.
Humidity in air oscillated between 50 and 91 per cent during the day.
The MeT office has predicted mist and shallow fog in the morning tomorrow. The day would remain partly cloudy with the possibility of one or two spells of light rainfall and thundershowers, it added.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a maximum of 29.4 degrees, which was down two notches from the normal, while Ludhiana and Patiala saw the mercury settle at 31 and 30.6 degrees, respectively.
Ambala in Haryana recorded a maximum of 29 degrees, again two points below normal. Bhiwani recorded a maximum of 33 degrees and Karnal was at 29.8 degrees, both down a notch from the normal.
The two neighbouring states may witness isolated, light rainfall in the next 24 hours, said the MeT department.
In the desert state of Rajasthan, Sriganganagar recorded the lowest minimum of 16.1 degrees. The minimum in Jodhpur was 16.8 degrees with Churu seeing the mercury settle at 18 degrees.
