Led by their leader Jignesh Mevani, around 20 activists tried to stop Rajdhani Express near Kalupur Railway station this evening, Pratik Rupala, an activist associated with Mevani said.
"We were protesting for our various demands, which include giving land to landless Dalits," he said.
Railway police confirmed that they detained some people, who tried to stop a train, but refused to give further details.
Mevani has been leading an agitation in the state after the Una dalit atrocity case last year. He had put forward demands of the Dalit community before the government.
