MIA gets World Quality Commitment award

The Mangaluru International Airport has received the World Quality Commitment award instituted by the Madrid-based private organisation Business Initiative Directions.
Airport director J T Radhakrishna received the award at a function in Paris on October 25.
Radhakrishna said the MIA had not applied for the award and the BID chose the airport on its own after analysing with experts and entrepreneurs on the quality, excellence and leadership of different airports in the country.

Power Grid sixth fastest growing energy firm in Asia * State-owned utility Power Grid Corporation today said it has been declared as the sixth fastest growing energy firm in Asia by Platts.
"Power Grid has been declared as the 6th Fastest Growing Energy Company in Asia under the category 'Fastest Growing Energy Companies in Asia 2015' by Platts," the state-run firm said in a statement.

NSE seals pact with Goa Board
* The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has inked a pact with Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) to introduce financial literacy courses in high schools starting from Class IX onwards in the state.
For the current academic year students of class XI will start learning, while the students of class IX will commence from the next academic year (2016-17).

DHFL Pramerica Life H1 FY16 net up 71% at Rs 19.3 crore * DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance (DPLI) today reported 71 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 19.3 crore in the first half of this financial year compared to the same period of last year.
The private insurer posted Rs 11.3 crore net profit in the first half of FY15, DPLI said in a release.
The company's Gross Written Premium (GWP) went up by 41.60 per cent to Rs 405 crore during the first half of this fiscal compared to Rs 286 crore in H1 FY 2014-15.

Waterbase Q2 net jumps 48.1 pc Rs 5.69 cr * Shrimp feed manufacturers Waterbase Ltd has registered a 48.1 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 5.69 crore for the quarter ending September 30, 2015.
The Chennai-based company had registered net profits at Rs 3.84 crore registered during corresponding period of previous year, Waterbase Ltd said in a statement.
For the six month period ending September 30, 2015 the net profits of the company, went upto Rs 13.98 crore from Rs 11.33 crore registered during year ago period.
