However, no loss to human life or damage to property was reported in the state.
"Mild tremors were felt in Raipur, Bilaspur, Sarguja and Bastar regions at around 11:41 AM, which are measured at 5 on Richter Scale," said M L Sahu, Director, Meteorological Centre, based in Raipur district.
He said reports from other such centres are also being sought.
Revenue and Disaster Prevention department Secretary R Pisda said, "two tremors were felt in various districts between 11 AM-12:15 PM, but there are no reports so far about any damage to property, or casualties."
"I have asked collectors to send me information about whether any damage is caused to mines, dams and factories (due to tremors)," he added.
Pisda said he has spoken with collectors over phone, but there are no reports of damage.
