Minor alleges rape in Patna-Indore Express, accused held

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a coach attendant in the running Patna-Indore Express near Manaknagar in Lucknow, police said.
Following her complaint, the 24-year-old accused coach attendant was arrested when the train arrived at Kanpur railway station, a railway police spokesperson said.
The spokesman said that when the train arrived at Kanpur railway station this morning they received information about a girl lying in disheveled clothes in one of the AC coaches.
When we enquired her she said she was allegedly raped by the coach attendant, he said.
According to the minor, she was traveling to Kanpur and was sitting alone in the train in the night when the attendant offered her to get a seat in the AC coach, the spokesperson said.

The attendant allegedly raped the girl in the moving train and also threatened her against disclosing the incident to anybody, he said.

He further said that seeing the police, the attendant allegedly tried to flee but was apprehended after a chase.
The railway police have sent the girl for medical tests.
They have arrested the accused and are questioning him, police said.
