Though the incident took place on Wednesday, the girl's family lodged a complaint yesterday only and a minor boy was arrested promptly, Uma kanta Pradhan, the IIC Town Police Station, Phulbani said.
According to the information, the boy, 14, lured the girl, his friend, to a dilapidated house on the river 'Pilla saluki' and reped her there.
As the girl raised an alarm, an old woman of the locality rescued her and handed her to the family.
The mother of the victim girl had lodged a FIR with Town police, Phulbani yesterday. The police has registered a case in this connection.
