Minor girl molested by cousin in Andhra Pradesh

An eight-year-old girl was allegedly molested by her cousin at BRT colony of Anakapalle town in the district.
Anakapalle town police station Inspector G Chandra, said that the girl, a class II student was molested by her cousin on July 22.
The incident came to light after her grandmother spotted the 30-year-old man molesting the minor girl, he said.
As per the complaint lodged today, the girl was being molested for over six months and the accused had threatened her of dire consequences if she disclosed the ordeal to anybody, the police officer said.
A case under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO) has been registered and investigations are underway, police said.

The accused has been detained by police in this connection.
