The decomposed body of the girl, who went missing from her maternal uncle's house in Rambha village on December 15, was recovered from a well in the village last night, Jhallar police station in-charge Archana Jaat said.

The minor girl originally belonged to Palasseya village and had been staying with her maternal uncle from where she disappeared, she said.

In August, the girl had eloped with her boyfriend from the neighbourhood and after she returned home she lodged a complaint of rape against the boy, also a minor, Jaat said.

Following the complaint, police had taken the boy into custody.

A case has been registered in this regard and investigations are on, she said.
