"A Special Investigating Team (SIT) traced missing Raman Wazir from Chandigarh yesterday. He is being brought to Jammu," a police officer said today.
The advocate, who was also the sarpanch of Dhok Warzian, was missing since 31 July from his native place Nagorta, she said.
"His family apprehended that he was abducted. The Bar Association went on strike following his disappearance. The Jammu and Kashmir High Court ordered that the matter be listed ashabeus corpus.
"It constituted an SIT on Aug 2 headed by SP South Shahzad Salaria and ordered that IGP Jammu and SSP Jammu will be held responsible if the police failed to bring the investigation to its logical end," she said.
Wazir was found roaming on the roads of Chandigarh by Inspector Parvez and Sub Inspector Kunal, the officer said.
