Prem Sukhdev Bansode (26), presently posted at Vishrambaug police station in Sangli district, was arrested here late last night, Additional SP Deepali Ghadge said.
The victim along with her family was staying on rent at the accused's house here, where the incident took place yesterday.
The girl claimed that the policeman raped her at gun point and threatened her and family from disclosing the crime. They then lodged a complaint at Anandnagar police station here after which the PSI was arrested.
