"I dare him (Narendra Modi) for an open debate in Vadodara in front of the people and to hold a discourse on the local and national issues," Mistry said here.
"When we both are contesting from the same seat, he should come forward for a public debate in front of the people and the experts," Mistry said, talking to reporters,
He said it would help people guage the intellectual capacity of the two contenders.
He also doubted the promise of implementation of Goods and Services Tax in the manifesto.
Mistry has already filed his nomination from Vadodara while the BJP's Prime Ministerial nominee will file his nomination tomorrow.
As the security has been enhanced for tomorrow, Mistry alleged a breach of model code.
"Barricades have been put up on the main roads, tea vendors have been removed, advocates will face difficulties due to suspension of traffic, this is a violation and Election Commission should look into it," Mistry said.
