Five artists from four cities of the country are showcasing their paintings themed on a number of issues, including that of the 'misuse of Nehru caps' by politicians.
"Nowadays the caps popularly known as Nehru caps are being misused by today's politicians. They quote Mahatama Gandhi's ideals but for all the wrong purposes," says Delhi-based artist Sanjay Sabran Tiwari who has teamed up with four other artists to put up an art exhibtion titled "Rainbow."
Sandhaya R Vaish, Arup K Bishwas, Dalip Chandolia and Kuldeep Singh Bhadooriya who hail from Delhi, Dehradum, Aligarh and Roorkee are the other four artists.
Atrocities towards women are a major theme in the show being held at the Pyarelal Bhawan here.
"I found women as the weaker section of the society and in my paintings have tried to portray problems of women," says Tewari.
In one of his paintings Tiwari has depicted images of a woman with a sword to depict what he calls "the resistance towards the cruel behaviour against them."
A painting by artist Sandhaya R Vaish captures the trauma of the December 2012 gangrape of a 23-year-old woman in Delhi.
She has also touched upon aspects such as the automatic life of society which lowers the intensity of good friendship among people through a horse and bird painting.
"I was very much concerned about the friendship being going towards the way of newer technologies, my fairy horse and little bird are the friends which I like to show to the people," says Vaish.
Other subjects, which are explored in the exhibition are water conservation, and the turmoil in society.
