US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, who met his Indian counterpart Arun Jaitley last week, has expressed confidence in increased economic collaboration between the two countries, the US Department of Treasury said today.
"Secretary Mnuchin underscored the strong US-India bilateral economic relationship," the Treasury said in a readout of the meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of the annual Spring Meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
"The Secretary expressed confidence in increased economic collaboration between the two nations," Treasury said.
Mnuchin relayed that he looks forward to working with Jaitley on India's successful economic policy objectives and reforms, said the Department of Treasury.
On the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank meetings, Mnuchin also met his counterparts from Egypt, Qatar, Japan, Indonesia, and Pakistan among others.
"The Secretary welcomed Minister Dar and looked forward to increasing the bilateral relationship between the US and Pakistan, including countering the financing of terrorism," the Treasury said in a readout of the meeting between Mnuchin and Dar.
