Mobile app to get traffic updates on WB highways

Those travelling on highways in West Bengal can soon get all information including traffic situation on a mobile application.
Official sources said the West Bengal Highway Development Corporation is coming up with GIS mapping of all the state highways which would be be available on the website of the corporation after Durga Puja in October.
A mobile app is also being developed to provide the information to all users like tourists and industrialists.
The maps will have information like condition of the road and the exact location of a damage, if any, traffic situation, number of roads connecting two places and the shortest available route.

It will also detail the start and end points of highways, petrol pumps, banks, hotels, ATMs, restaurants, hospitals, etc on the highway, the sources said.
