Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said the modalities for setting up four smart cities in Haryana would be finalised after a meeting with the Centre which would be held shortly.
Gurgaon, Ambala, Faridabad and Panipat will be developed as 'smart cities' in the state.
Speaking on the sidelines after chairing a Cabinet meeting here this evening, Khattar when asked to comment on the communal dispute in a village in Ballabhgarh, said dialogue continued with members of both communities and the situation was under control.
He appealed to the people to maintain brotherhood. Some people have suffered losses which would be made good by the state government, he said, adding, ministers and area MLAs were handling the entire situation.
In reply to another query concerning the statement made by Karnal MP Ashwini Chopra that he was being surrounded by a coterie and that no development was taking place, the Chief Minister said, "We have given out whatever we have done. During the last 7 months of the present government, it has done work equal to 14 months. The MP's job is to work with the Centre whereas development in the state is ensured by MLAs, ministers and the Chief Minister".
Asked if there was any proposal to give relaxation to the guest teachers whose services have been terminated while making fresh recruitment, he said that the state government had sympathy for guest teachers.
"It is our duty to take care of their families," he said.
When asked to comment on pruning down his security cover, Khattar said he had removed about 175 personnel from his security.
"Security cover should not be a status symbol and should be provided as per the requirement," he said.
