Rana emphasised for transfer of technology and scientific findings from lab to land and asked agriculturists to adopt new techniques and utilise balanced amount of fertilisers to realise enhanced production.
"Agriculture sector is among the important concerns for the state government," Rana said after inaugurating a agriculture mela in Agore area of Nagrota.
Modern farming techniques were being encouraged in the fields and farmers being trained to introduce new techniques for raising per-hectare production and productivity, he said.
Rana said training camps, agricultural melas and exhibitions of farms were being organised to educate farmers about the modern agricultural practices.
The technology of cultivation of vegetables, floriculture and cash crops under 'Poly Green House' technology has greater potential in the state, he said.
