Describing Narendra Modi as a "global leader", Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that his state would be able to attract investment due to the Prime Minister's presence at the Global Investors' Summit (GIS) inaugural ceremony here.
"Modi has turned into a world leader. It is a matter of pride for all Indians the way he is becoming popular across the seven seas. I am really happy about it," he told reporters after reviewing preparations for GIS.
"We will benefit with his presence on October 9," Chouhan said.
"Like Modi's 'Make In India' slogan, we have also coined the 'Make in Madhya Pradesh' slogan for GIS. We believe that along with bigger economies like Japan and China, smaller countries like the UAE have immense potential to invest in Madhya Pradesh," he said.
He said that during GIS which would be held here from October 8 to October 10, 3,245 delegates belonging to 24 countries have registered themselves for the event. Besides, ambassadors of 21 countries have confirmed their participation, he said.
The MP CM said that his state has developed four industrial corridors and 327 industrial areas. Besides, the state has also reserved 25,000 hectares of land for investors.
Chouhan said that Australia's High Commissioner Patrick Suckling, who met him today, has expressed the desire to co-operate with MP in the areas of dairy, dryland farming and sports.
The MP CM dismissed reports regarding poor financial health of the state.
However, he said that it was a fact that due to natural calamities, the state had distributed relief worth crores of rupee from its treasury.
