MOIL registers 10 pc growth in core production in FY15

State-owned Manganese Ore India (MOIL) has registered a growth of 9.90 per cent at 9.77 lakh tonnes in its core production during the fiscal year 2014-15.
This has been a year of challenges for mining and metals industry and for manganese ore sector in particular, the company stated in the release.
"Despite that, the company has been able to record 9.90 per cent jump in its core production (i.E. Ferro and silico grade of manganese ore, excluding fines). The core production stands at 9.77 lakh tonnes against 8.89 lakh tonnes during FY 2013-14," it said.
MOIL, headed by chairman and managing director G P Kundergi, is the largest producer of the manganese ore.

It operates 10 mines in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and has also diversified into manufacture of electrolytic manganese dioxide and ferro alloys as well as generation of electricity through wind turbine generators, the release added.
