They attributed the delay due to existence of low pressure belt in the Arabian Sea.
"There was uniform rainfall (pre-monsoon rains) in Goa during the day today. But we are not sure whether monsoon will hit the state in next 24 hours. There is low pressure belt in the East central and South East parts of Arabian sea," a scientist of the Indian Meteorological department Dr V K Mini told PTI.
She said that low pressure belt would be converting into a depression within 12 hours.
Officials said monsoon has reached Karwar, a city on Goa-Karnataka border, nearly 130 kms from Panaji.
According to Met department prediction, monsoon was to reach here on June 9, which was a five-day delay as compared to its conventional arrival.
She said the department is monitoring the movement of the monsoon to predict its arrival in the State.
Mini said the state will continue to receive pre- monsoon showers.
Two extreme talukas - Pernem and Canacona, got maximum rains during the last 24 hours.
