The current spell of monsoon season was over as mercury has risen from 35 to 40 degree C and monsoon trough passed out from Rajasthan since mid of August, B N Bishnoi, the state MeT Director told PTI today.
New monsoon trough is most likely to hit cause rains in Rajasthan from September 10 to 17 next month, Bishnoi said, adding the moisture level from Bay of Bengal and Indian ocean were getting favourable now.
Till now this monsoon season since June, Rajasthan has received over 482 mm rainfall which was about 11 per cent more than the previous year 2014's rainfall.
Due to dry weather conditions, the mercury has shot up every where in the state and maximum day temperature ranged between 33 and 39.8 degree C in last 24 hours, a MeT report said.
Western districts of Jodhpur division covering Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bikaner, Churu, and Jodhpur were facing fresh hot winds like summer, the report said.
