Water stock in reservoirs is now 42 per cent. Last year, it was 58 per cent by this time, officials said.
However, in Marathwada the water stock is only 15 per cent while in Konkan it is 76 per cent, in Nagpur division 64 per cent, in Amravati division 45 per cent, in Nashik division 26 per cent and in Pune division 46 per cent.
At present 1,445 villages and 3,640 wadis (hamlets) are being provided drinking water through 1,695 tankers. 62 per cent sowing has been completed over the total 134.70 lakh hectares of kharif area.
Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Dhule, Jalgaon, Satara, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia have received 76 to 100 per cent rainfall while Sangli and Amravati have got more than 100 per cent rains, officials informed.
As of now 1.8 lakh people are employed in Employment Guarantee Scheme works.
