Mother, little son run over by train

The Raksha Bandhan festival turned tragic for a woman as she and her minor son were run over by a train near Sheikhpura railway station in Bihar today, a GRP officer said.
The woman Kunti Devi with her little son in lap, tripped on tracks while trying to get down from the Gaya-Jamalpur Passenger near Lakshmana village and were crushed to death under its wheels, the GRP officer said.
A native of a village under Warsaliganj police station area in Nawada district, the 25 year-old woman was going to her maternal home to tie rakhi on her brother's wrist on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandha, he said.
The bodies have been sent to a government hospital in Munger.
