Mother of army man seeks police help to trace son

An army man's mother today sought police help to trace her son, who she said has not come home since joining duty in 2001.
In her complaint to police at nearby Uchipuli, she said her son Saravanan joined the Army in 2001. He had told her he would go to Chennai from where he would be posted anywhere in India.
But after he left that year, there was no news till about seven months back when he started calling her over telephone. However, he has still not come home, she said.
The woman said she had pursued the matter all these years with army officials, but nothing had come of it and hence she decided to file a police complaint.
