MoU signed for electronics manufacturing cluster in Gr Noida

Uttar Pradesh Development Systems Corporation Ltd. And Taiwan Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association on Thursday signed an MoU for setting up an electronics manufacturing cluster on a 210-acre plot here.
Rama Raman, Chief Executive Officer of Greater Noida Authority and Chairman of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), was present at the MoU signing ceremony held at Jaypee Greens.
Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Energy Yassar Shah, Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan, Principal Secretary of IT and Electronics Rajinder Kumar Tiwari were also present.
In the first phase, Taiwanese units will invest Rs 500 crore and this will generate employment of 20,000 to 30,000 persons and direct or indirect employment generation will be one lakh.
UP Chief Secretary Ranjan briefed about the state electronic and information technology policy 2012 which provides incentives and single window clearances for projects.
He said new policy was attracting the electronics and IT industry to the state.
He said Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has been personally taking interest to attract industry to the state, especially in the Electronics and IT sector, and has promised better infrastructure and incentives.
Meanwhile District Industry Centre records revealed that in four months of current financial year 2015-16 from April to July end 696 new industrial units were issued small scale industries (SSI) unit registration in the area.
