MP police for hearing through videoconferencing in sensitive

Madhya Pradesh police is seeking video-conferencing facility in courts as well as jails for conducting hearing in sensitive matters, especially after the recent incident in which SIMI operatives allegedly raised inflammatory slogans against Narendra Modi.
Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Nandan Dubey, however, said the incident was just an attempt by the accused to gain media attention.
"Whenever SIMI activists look at the media cameras, they start shouting. The basic aim behind their act is to get media's attention and they made such an attempt earlier also," he told reporters here today.
To prevent such incidents, police have already sent a proposal to the state government for providing video- conferencing facility in the courts as well as jails for conducting hearing in sensitive matters.

He said a case has been registered in this regard against banned outfit Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activist Abu Faisal and others and appropriate action will be taken against them.
Dube was here to take part in the passing out parade at the Rustamji Armed Police Training College.
On Saturday, Faisal along with other SIMI operatives had allegedly raised inflammatory slogans against Modi while they were being taken back to jail from a court in Bhopal.
Taking the matter seriously, police had registered a case against the SIMI operatives under sections 153B (Imputations, assertions prejudicial to national-integration), 295A ( Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) and 34 (common intention) of IPC in this regard.
