A Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) release issued here today said that these committees will tour drought affected areas in the state from December 18 and submit their reports to the state unit.
Farmers in Marathwada, Vidarbha, and North Maharashtra are suffering due to crop losses and drought conditions.
The committees, which have been formed division-wise comprise of former legislators, MPs, and office bearers. One is for Marathwada as well as North Maharashtra, while the second one is for Vidarbha, the release said.
These MPCC committees would visit farmers and their farms, understand their needs as well as expectations from the Maharashtra government, after which these issues would be brought to the notice of the administration, it said.
