murder accused who had escaped from police custody in Ganjam district on August 15 has been re-arrested.
Thirty-year-old Babaji Nayak of Chakundapalli, one of the main accused in the gang rape and murder of a minor girl at Bali Sahi, near Bhanjanagara on August 21, last year, had been nabbed on August 14, 2015.
He, however, managed to escape from police custody On August 15 morning from the police station.
Ganjam SP Narsingh Bhol had suspended a constable in the police station after the incident.
"We have arrested him from S.Rambha area during patrolling yesterday," inspector-in charge, Bhanjanagar police station A K Sahu said.
On September 24, last year, police had arrested other two accused persons - Budu alias Sushant Nayak (25) Kalia Nayak (24), the police said.
