The Kerala government will organise a three-day business meet in Kochi in February next year, exclusively to promote Small and Medium Enterprises of the state.
The event - 'Kerala Business to Business (B2B) Meet 2016'- will be organised by state's department of industries and commerce and will begin February four.
The meet will focus on promoting the products of key sectors including food processing, handlooms, textiles and garments, rubber, wood-based industries, ayurveda, herbal and cosmetics, engineering and handicrafts, State Minister for Industries and IT P K Kunhalikutty said here after releasing the logo for the meet.
He said the state's SME sector is showcasing good performance and the meet would help strengthen this.
"The state's SME sector is showcasing good performance and its growth rate is the best compared to other states in the country. The meet is going to benefit everyone in the sector who likes to do business with Kerala," the minister said.
While the state's SME sector registers 12 per cent growth, the national average is less than 10 per cent, he said.
The meet will provide a platform for direct and one-to-one interaction between sellers and buyers and enable a mutually beneficial business relationship, he said.
FICCI is the 'trade and industry partner' of the event.
The industry body will identify and ensure participation of a minimum 300 national and 50 international genuine buyers in the identified sectors for the meet.
State Principal Secretary (Industries and IT) P H Kurian and FICCI (Kerala) Co-Chairman Deepak L Aswani also participated in the logo releasing function.
