Muzaffarnagar: 170 inmates released from district jail on parole till date
in a bid to decongest the district jail here to prevent the spread of coronavirus, 170 inmates have been released on parole till date, an official said on Wednesday.
Jail Superintendent AK Saxena said there were 2,200 inmates lodged in the prison, of which 170 were released on parole as a precautionary measure.
A district-level committee is scrutinising cases on the basis of merit for the release of prisoners.
