Over 50 ships and submarines and around 75 aircraft participated in TROPEX - a major theatre level exercise - conducted through February on the western sea board, aimed at assessing the operational readiness of ships, submarines and aircraft of the Navy, a naval press release said.
The Army, Air Force and Coast Guard also participated in the exercise in which diverse facets of maritime operations were conducted at sea and bases ashore.
Admiral Joshi and his senior aides analysed the conduct of TROPEX. Key issues which emerged post the review would be factored into operational doctrines by the Navy. Commander in Chiefs of all three Naval Commands were also present, it said.
