"The relationship between the two neighbouring countries has come a long way and there has been a considerable progress in the overall situation," NC spokesman Tanvir Sadiq said in a statement here.

He said the dialogue process needs to be sustained which will lead to a positive outcome.

Appealing External Affairs Minister S M Krishna and his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar to create history by taking bold decision with regards to Kashmir, Sadiq said, "hostile conditions need to end and Kashmir needs to be resolved."

"Such initiatives will not only bridge gap between the two countries but also address the mistrust," he said, adding "we are hopeful that both the countries are heading in the right direction to resolve all outstanding issues."

He said the preparatory talks between the foreign secretaries of the two countries ahead of tomorrow's meeting could help lay the foundation for some more confidence-building measures.

"Issues like making visa regime easier, resolving Sir Creek and Siachen issues, cross-LoC trade can be improved," he said.

The NC spokesman appealed the two foreign ministers to reconsider issues of communication and trade and travel across the Line of Control.

"Banking arrangements across LoC should be there so that the barter system of trading could be closed," he said.
