NDTV to seek shareholders nod for e-comm biz

Media house NDTV today said its board has approved a proposal for seeking shareholders' for e-commerce ventures.
"Board of Directors of the Company through resolution passed by circulation on June 12, 2015, have approved inter-alia to seek approval of shareholders by way of special resolution through Postal Ballot for amending the object clause of the Company," NDTV said in a BSE filing.
The company on June 10 had informed BSE that it has signed preliminary non-binding term sheets with certain potential investors for e-commerce ventures and that if required it will will seek the shareholders' approval for amending the Memorandum of Association.
NDTV at present runs an e-commerce venture Indianroots through which it sells Indian apparels and accessories in partnership with Indian designers and craftsmen.
In a separate filing, NDTV updated the exchange about shareholding of its promoters.
"Dr Prannoy Roy, Mrs Radhika Roy and RRPR Private Limited ("RRPR"), continue to hold the majority shareholding of NDTV which amounts to 61.45 per cent of the total shareholding of NDTV. There has been no change in the above shareholding since August 2008," NDTV said.
It added that Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy continue to hold the entire shareholding of RRPR since its incorporation.
Shares of NDTV closed at Rs 99 a unit, down by 0.9 per cent compared to previous close, at BSE today.
