Need to create more awareness about farm schemes: Singh

Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh today stressed the need to create more awareness about various farm schemes to ensure farmers take advantage of such programmes.
Addressing an event organised by the International Institute of Security and Safety Management, Singh said the government is using the IT to create awareness among the farming community and enable them to take wise decisions.
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centres located at a village level are being used widely for this purpose, he was quoted as saying in an official statement.
He also said ICT centres are also being used to monitor implementation of the schemes and also take feedback that will help in taking policy decisions.

Singh, however, observed that more awareness about agricultural schemes need to be done, the statement added.
