Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today expressed confidence that the proposed new capital of the state, would be much better than Hyderabad.
Since the bifurcation of the united Andhra Pradesh in June last year, Hyderabad has been serving as the joint capital for ten years for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
"Cyberabad, an IT hub, had been the only source of income for Hyderabad and it was developed during my previous tendure as the Chief Minister. But with the division of the state, we lost Hyderabad. Now, we will develop a new capital, which would be hundred times better than Hyderabad," Naidu said here while interacting with the students of an engineering college near Etcherla.
"The present times demand quality education, for which all the colleges will be equipped with wi-fi and incubation centres and skill development centres will be established in all the colleges," he added.
Meanwhile, addressing a public meeting at Narasanna Peta in the district, Naidu announced several sops to the people of the district.
He said that 93 per cent of agriculture loan had been waived with Rs 287 crore in first phase, which benefitted about 2,46,653 agriculturists. "In the second phase, 31,065 farmers will be covered. Even though the government is currently in deep financial crisis, its is committed to fulfil the election promise of loan waiver," he added.
"Twenty crore rupees have been sanctioned for the construction of new buildings in Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) at Srikakulam and Rs 10 crore for post-graduate courses," he said.
