Following a tip off, the car which was coming from Niwai area was stopped and checked in which new currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 were recovered yesterday in Shivdaspura area, DCP (South) Manish Agrawal said.
The car driver Mukesh Jain, a resident of Tonk district, said that the money belonged to one Pradeep Agrawal and he was going to hand it over to his known person in Jaipur, he said.
The Income Tax department has been informed about the recovery and the matter is being probed further, Agrawal said.
