New program for students aspiring to work in biotech industry

To help biotechnology sector get skilled workforce, Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE) has launched a certificate programme to test the students and make them industry ready.
"The AMCAT ABLE life sciences certification programme is an online testing tool to evaluate the employability quotient of students aspiring to work for the Biotech industry," said a statement.
AMCAT is an employability test catering to the IT, ITeS, BFSI, Retail, Hospitality and Manufacturing Industry.
This new platform brought by ABLE along with Aspiring Minds would assess the aspirant's language, cognitive, personality and functional skills important for the Biotech industry, the statement said.
The test shall be conducted by Aspiring Minds, a leading employability solutions company, on the premises of colleges offering graduate and post-graduate courses in science, pharmacy and bio technology. Beside, its 60-odd centers across India will offer the certification to aspirants.
According to CEO of Aspiring Minds Himanshu Aggarwal, AMCAT's comprehensive employability report shall go a long way in helping Biotech aspirants understand their strengths and areas of improvements in their quest to work for the booming Biotech industry in India.
Lauding the initiative, CMD of Biocon Kiran Mazumdar Shaw hoped the industry will benefit with the new initiative as it will improve access to employable biotech professionals.
Currently at USD 5 billion, the Indian biotech sector is expected to grow to USD 100 billion by 2025, she said.
