Chairman of the NFF M Ilango said in a release here today that the nuclear power plant would be a threat to the livelihood of the fishermen and the NFF had been opposing the move for setting up of the nuclear plant.
Ilango said that now an MOU had been inked between Larsen and Toubro and the France based Areva for the setting up of the 9900 mw nuclear power plant in Jaitapur. 'This is a shocking development and the NFF would continue its protest against the initiatives for the setting up of the plant. We will continue the protest till the project is given up', Ilango said expressing the view that the nuclear power plant would be a threat to the livelihood of fishermen.
