The Radio One DJ, who has been widely tipped to replace Louis Walsh on the ITV singing competition, will be joining the panel alongside the new hosts of the show, reported Daily Mirror.
"He would be revealed as Louis' replacement sometime today or tomorrow. It would take a real curve ball to mess up the deal," a source said,
Simon Cowell also reportedly believes Grimshaw would be a great addition to the panel because of his passion for music.
"I think anyone who works in the business, and loves music, has a right to be on this show. Nick loves artists and music, that's what I love about him. I like the fact that he's from the North so he represents them," he said.
