Nickel, tin gain on rising demand

Nickel and tin prices gained at the non-ferrous metal market here today on sustained stockist buying amidst rising demand from alloy industries.
Elsewhere, select copper and brass also rose on good offtake from consumer industries.
The industrial metals edged down at the LME, on the prospect of rising supply, but hopes the US would delay tapering its massive economic stimulus buoyed demand for metals.
Nickel and tin climbed by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 1,010 and Rs 1,580 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,575, respectively.
Copper sheet cutting and Brass sheet cutting moved up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 455 and Rs 351 from Rs 457 and Rs 349.
Copper armature and brass utensils scrap inched-up by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 481 and Rs 341.
However, copper utensils scrap declined by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 455 from Rs 457.
Aluminium utensils scrap and lead softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 122 and Rs 128.
