Inaugurating a 2.5-km bridge over river Kosi river in Saharsa district in the presence of Sharad Yadav, JD(U) president and party MP from the area, Kumar said if the people continued to extend support, nobody could stop Bihar from getting a special category status which would augment its growth.
The bridge will connect Kosi belt of the state with Mithilanchal area of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharad Yadav thanked the Chief Minister for construction of the bridge which would revolutionise the life of the people of the region.
Senior state ministers Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Renu Kushwaha, Narendra Narayan Yadav and Jeetan Ram Manjhi were present on the occasion.
The Baluaha Ghat to Gandaul bridge has been completed before a month, Chairman of Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam (BRPNN) Pratya Amrit said.
The bridge constructed at a cost of Rs 531.15 crore will substantially cut short the distance of Saharsa district with Darbhanga, Samastipur, Patna, Purnea and Madhubani districts, he said.
