"My hands will tremble to take up the stories of 'Sonar Kella' and 'Joy Baba Felunath' - the two films directed by Ray based on his literary works," Parambrata, who is directing the web series, told PTI here today.
"I very much like the way Ray had made use of Feluda's eyes in the two films and especially remember his dialogue to his young assistant, 'Kichhu bhalo lagchhe na re Topshe' (Don't like the way things are happening, Topshe) in 'Sonar Kella'.
Asked whom he would rate as the best 'Feluda', Parambrata said, "Soumitra jethu (as Soumitra Chatterjee is affectionately referred) is the best Feluda I have ever seen.
Whatever inspiration I drew was from him. Howwever, if you talk about the web series, my Feluda has more boyish charm while Soumitra Chatterjee was not that young (as Feluda)."
Happy with the success of the first episode of 'Sheyal Debota Rahasya' of the web series, Parambrata is waiting for the response to the second web episode,'Ghurghutiar Ghotona'.
'Ghurghutiar Ghatona' is the second web series on the sleuth after 'Sheyal Debota Rahosyo', co-produced by Bangladeshi production house Kandy Productions and Roadshow Films, owned by Parambrata and Aritra Sen.
"I had always felt the urge to make a Feluda project and now I am realising that dream. In the format of a web series on Feluda I have sought to make a cinema," Parambrata, a well-known actor in Bengali film industry having been part of projects of Srijit Mukherjee, Kaushik Ganguly and Sandip Ray among others, said.
"I must thank Babuda (as Sandip Ray is called) for giving permission to make the web series, in a liberal manner," he said.
Shahriar Shakil, Producer, Kandy Production Ltd, said, "We are thankful that after we held talks with Sandip Ray, he gave permission to take up Feluda works for the Bangladesh TV and the web series. We have plans to do 25 stories for the web series."
