No respite from heat in Raj, mercury touches 45.6 deg C

There was no respite from the blistering heat in Rajasthan where Jaisalmer and Sriganganagar remained the hottest with the mercury touching 45.6 degrees Celsius.
In the desert state, Kota recorded day temperature at 45.5 degrees even as Bikaner and Barmer touched 44.6 degrees and 44.2 degrees respectively, according to the Met department report till 1630 hrs.
Churu and Jaipur sizzled at 43.8 degree Celsius while Jodhpur, Ajmer and Dabok recorded the maximum at 42 degrees, 41.4 degrees and 40 degrees Celsius.
Heat wave conditions prevailed at some areas in Bikaner and Kota divisions, the report said, adding, weather is likely to remain the same during the next 24 hours.
